Carlisle Service Company was hired by Exide Batteries to improve the COS Battery Assembly Line # 4 area by cleaning the overhead mechanical lines & duct lines. The current condition of the overhead area was covered with lead-dust from standard manufacturing debris and traffic. Carlisle Service Company mobilized articulating man lifts to vacuum and whip down all components in order to improve the cleanliness view and to prevent the built up of debris from falling on employees, contractors, and visitors to the plant. This project also included the handling of potentially hazardous manufacturing materials such as Lead-Oxide and Sulfuric Acids in which, Carlisle Service Company was responsible for monitoring the wellbeing of their employee’s overall health. Through regular blood testing, the lead exposure of each employee was watched for the duration of the project & the extent of being on-site.
