Modern Forge - Plant Expansion

Modern Forge
2020
Carlisle Construction was hired by Modern Forge to Design-Build their newest plant expansion at their Piney Flats, TN Location. The project involved first organizing with our design team (Architects; Civil Engineers; Structural Engineers; Mechanical Engineers; Electrical Engineers) to finalize a design for the approval of the Modern Forge representatives. After this, construction began, consisting of: Site Work and Grading; Forming and pouring multiple pits, numerous power and utility trenches, and 8 slabs of over of the 13,000 SF Slab; Setting over 20 Micro piles at an average depth of 51 LF; Erecting the Steel Building Package; New Roofing; Interior Trenching; Electrical and Mechanical Hookups for retrofitting machinery.

Pratt & Whitney - Materials Control Lab Construction

Pratt & Whitney
2020
Carlisle Construction proposed and built a 2700 SF. Materials Control Lab addition at Pratt-Whitney Columbus plant. This building is inside the existing structure and consists of structural steel framing, insulated metal panels, and typical industrial interior finishes. The mechanical and electrical scopes for this project were incredibly complex and accounted for half the project cost. Carlisle Construction significantly enhanced the design of this structural in a post-bid design review and constructability design analysis. As a result of this, Carlisle proposed constructability changes such as exchanging wood framing construction to Type 2 structural metal framing and joists in order to meet code compliance, strengthen the overall design and maximize the customer’s investment.

Pratt & Whitney - Nitrogen Pad

Pratt & Whitney
2020
Carlisle Construction was hired by Pratt and Whitney to construct the new concrete pad for their Nitrogen holding systems. This 2,200 SF Concrete pad was designed to hold three 30’-0” industrial metal silos. Each silo holds approximately 1 million pounds of Nitrogen.

Pratt & Whitney - P2 Press Expansion

Pratt & Whitney
2020
Carlisle Construction provided an FFP proposal and was selected to expand the existing Pratt-Whitney manufacturing plant by adding a 14,000 SF building designed to house a new disc press. The construction includes: Removal of existing pre-cast concrete panels, protection of existing plant to avoid any inhibition of ongoing manufacturing, installation of concrete pits, walls, and trenches, rerouting of underground utilities; extension of plant process utilities and piping; installation of structural steel framing; supplying and installing switchgear; and new building envelope on a restrictive shortened timeline to meet the press arrival date.

Pratt & Whitney - Press Foundations

Pratt & Whitney
2020
Carlisle Construction was hired by Pratt and Whitney to form and pour 3 new Press Foundations at their Columbus, GA Manufacturing Facility. All Excavations were done to Pratt and Whitney Standards, to include: Machine excavation with scratch-and-probe, GPR scanning (slab, below slab, 3’-0” elevation below slab). Each Press Pit was Approximately 24’-0” x 22’-0” and Approximately 6’-6” in Depth.
